Anton Logi (1991) has worked as a visual artist in Reykjavík for about a decade. Back in his schooldays in LHÍ ,he stumbled upon a specific method of canvas-making, "Crumplecanvas", where acrylic fabric, house paint and newspapers are blended together into a unique surface. That surface gets stapled onto a frame and then the painting can be painted. The Crumplecanvas has been the artist's main focus for some time now, but before that the performance, the video and the installation each had their time in the sun. The painting series "LANDSLAGUR" and "Brennuöld" (they reference Iceland's heavy industry on the one hand and the witch-burnings in 17th century Iceland on the other hand) have been in a constant process for some years now, and these paintings serve as an ideal showcase of Anton Logi's crumpleworks.
